We’re Hiring: Personal Trainer / Strength & Performance Coach (Part-Time)

Join a Team That Believes Strength Training Should Improve Life

At KG Strength & Performance, strength training is about more than lifting weights—it's about helping people move better, feel better, perform better, and keep doing the things they love for decades to come.

We're a private training facility in Arlington Heights specializing in individualized coaching and evidence-based strength training. Every client gets a personalized program based on their goals, movement needs, and training history. We don't believe in one-size-fits-all workouts or simply making people tired. As we grow, we're looking for a coach who shares that philosophy.

About the Position:

Part-time, with opportunities to grow into additional hours and responsibilities over time.

We're specifically looking for someone available:

·       Weekday afternoons and evenings (beginning around 3–4 PM)
·       Saturday mornings

·       10–15 hours per week, with room for growth

Ideal for someone who wants consistent afternoon, evening, and weekend coaching hours while continuing to develop as a coach.

Who You'll Coach

·       Adults improving strength, performance, health, and longevity

·       Women building confidence and resilience through strength training

·       Middle and high school athletes looking to improve performance and stay healthy

Our clients value education, relationships, and individualized coaching. They're looking for someone they can trust and learn from — not someone to simply count reps or make them sweat. Because many of our clients are female, experience building trust and strong coaching relationships with female clients of all ages is a big plus.

What You Won't Find Here

·       Cookie-cutter workouts

·       Pressure to sell memberships

·       Sessions built around exhausting clients

·       Coaching without purpose or assessment

Instead, you'll spend your time building relationships, solving problems, and helping clients make real, sustainable progress — guided by assessments, alongside a team that cares about your success. We have an on-site physical therapist and a small team that values continuing education, questions, and collaboration.

The Right Coach for This Role

·       Passionate about helping people improve their performance and quality of life

·       Coaches with confidence, empathy, and professionalism

·       Works well independently and takes ownership

·       Curious and committed to continual learning

·       Enjoys solving movement problems, not just prescribing exercises

·       Builds trust and meaningful relationships with clients

·       Communicates clearly and effectively

·       Organized, dependable, detail-oriented

·       Wants feedback and enjoys improving their craft

Qualifications (Preferred)

·       Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science or related field

·       CPT and/or CSCS (or equivalent) certification

·       CPR/AED Certification

·       Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and strength training principles

Coaching experience is valuable, but mindset matters more. We're happy to invest in someone with strong fundamentals, professionalism, humility, and a genuine desire to become an exceptional coach.

What You'll Do

·       Conduct consultations and movement assessments

·       Design individualized training programs

·       Coach private and semi-private sessions, and a limited number of small group sessions

·       Track client progress and reassess regularly

·       Maintain accurate coaching notes

·       Help keep the training environment clean, organized, and welcoming

·       Collaborate with the coaching team to improve the client experience

·       Represent KG Strength & Performance with professionalism and integrity

Opportunities to Grow

Depending on your interests and strengths, there may be room to get involved in:

·       Performance testing using force plate technology for data-driven programming

·       Marketing, social media, and content creation

·       Community outreach and networking

·       Client consultations and sales

·       Accountability coaching and habit-based behavior change

·       Continuing education projects and coaching development

We don't expect every coach to do everything — we build opportunities around each coach's strengths while supporting the growth of the business.

Compensation & Growth

·       $20–$75+ per hour, based on experience, certifications, and the type of session (private, semi-private, small group, admin work, etc.)

·       Flexible scheduling

·       Free gym membership

·       Professional development support

·       Bonus and commission opportunities

·       Paths into leadership, team training, marketing, or business development based on your interests and strengths

·       Opportunity for increased hours and long-term career growth
