OWNER – KG Strength & Performance
I am a wife, mom, health and fitness coach, business owner, lover of lifting heavy objects, competitive powerlifter, and a continuing education enthusiast. I am also a former corporate professional with a love for helping others master their health, fitness, movement, mindset and improve their lives.
My background brings some varied perspectives when it comes to health and wellness that helps me to be a better coach and a better person. I know what it is like to be the young, injured athlete who just wants to return to play but lacks resources and direction. I was that person. I know what it feels like to be a new mom and just wish to be able to do the things I once could and regain that confidence in myself. I have been there. I spent over fifteen years in a corporate career. I know what it feels like to be under so much pressure at work while also trying to balance family obligations with corporate travel and still finding time for my own health. It was not easy and my health suffered. I know what it feels like to want to feel athletic again while feeling broken and not myself. I have suffered from aches and pains that resulted in seeking out some of the best clinicians and learning more than I could have ever imagined. My life experiences led to some of the biggest opportunities to learn, struggle, and grow as a person and a coach.
I tore my ACL in the eighth grade. When I was in high school, I ran track, cross country, and played basketball. I continued running throughout adulthood until I gave birth to my second child. I felt weak and broken after having two kids. I began learning about strength training and fell in love with it. This sent me down the rabbit hole of hiring a coach, pursuing education and certifications in personal training, strength training, movement, taking college courses in Anatomy and Physiology, doing internships and mentorships, as well as pursuing education in nutrition and lifestyle coaching. The education list continues to grow. The more I learn, the more I want to learn more.
Regardless of where we are today, we can take steps to rebuild ourselves. There is no better feeling than regaining health, movement, athleticism, rebuilding confidence, and building strength and competency to do the things you wish to do while achieving goals that you may have once felt were impossible.
